24th May Onwards, Campania Brunch on the Terrace!
May 13th, 2015Starting from May 24th the 8 ½ regional brunch opens also on the Terrace and moves to a new region: Campania!
Campania cuisine is complex and includes a wide mixture of tradition. It has still direct connections with the antique Greek and Roman roots, it includes the earthy ingredients of the inland and the seaside flavors of the coast and it all culminates in the cuisine of Naples, former capital of Southern Italy, where one of the oldest cookbooks, the “Liber de Coquina”, was written at the beginning of the 14th century. Remarkable are also the effect of Spanish and French influence, the use of ingredients brought from the American continent such as tomatoes, peppers, potatoes and cocoa, and the separation between the aristocratic and popular cuisine.
The menu we present tries to catch a few of these different aspects: the rich tradition in cooking vegetables, such as the eggplant parmigiana, the taste for street food and fried snacks, the epic process of making the mixed beef and pork ragout and the beloved al dente pasta. Follows inevitably a seafood main course, reminiscent of the fish and clams traditional of Naples, and lastly the “frutta a gelato”: colorful and refreshing.
The regional Brunch will be available every Sunday from 11:30am to 3pm both in the restaurant and on the rooftop terrace.
4-course set menu at RMB 458+10% including coffee or tea, kids menu also available at RMB 138+10% (complimentary for kids below 6 years of age).
The 8 ½ team of sommeliers and bartenders also recommends a selection of wines by glass and bottle or cocktails at a promotional price.
