Jermann Wine Dinner
June 18th, 2012On Monday, June 18th, 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA together with Mr. Michele Jermann and Mr Edi Clementin, CEO of the winery, hosted the “Jermann Wine Dinner”, showcasing some of the highest quality and most award-winning white wines of Italy.
The Jermann winery started its activity in 1881, when the Jermann family moved from Austria to Friuli with the desire to make wine. Starting from the 70s then, thanks to the great passion and the vision of oenologist Silvio Jermann, the company became larger, reaching a production of almost one million bottles per year and achieving outstanding quality.
The main features of the Jermann wines are the minerality, that from the soil is transmitted to the wines, and the moderate use of wood during the aging, that lets the grapes express its natural flavor without overpowering it.
Among the most significant Jermann wines, which were served during the Wine Dinner: W… Dreams 2002 and Vintage Tunina 2006, wines of great complexity and balance, the last being awarded 94 points by Wine Spectator 2008.
Matching these refined wines the 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA kitchen prepared a special 5 course Menu designed by Chef Alan Yu.
