Planeta Wine Dinner, a Journey through Sicily
April 25th, 2012On Wednesday, April 25th 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA and the Planeta Winery from Sicily held an unforgettable Wine Dinner.
Planeta was officially founded in 1995 but has a history of wine making that dates back to the 1500s. With six different areas of production it includes the different territories and flavors of Sicily, a region fascinating for its unique geographical location, climate and products.
While successfully experimenting with international grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet, Planeta focused on developing the local grapes such as Nero d’Avola, Grecanico, Carricante, Moscato di Noto, Frappato, Nerello Mascalese, interpreting wine making and the flavors of Sicily in an innovative way, earning numerous international awards.
To match these international territorial wines, our chef Alan Yu especially designed a 5 course Menu to showcase our best Italian cuisine and delight the palates.
